BRYN SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

SEPTEMBER 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you have all had a great summer despite the best efforts of the weather to spoil things. We are ready and raring to go and with your support provide an exciting year of educational experiences for every Bryn pupil. We welcome Mrs Sarginson to Year 5 where she will be teaching for two terms to cover Mrs Williams’ maternity leave. She joins a committed, enthusiastic and creative staff team dedicated to giving their best for our pupils.

Don’t forget – you can keep up to date with what’s happening in many ways whether it be by downloading our app, visiting our website, being part of our email database or simply popping in for a chat. We are partners with the shared aim of ensuring the children get the most out of their time in Bryn School.

TRAINING DAY

The school will be closed for In-Service Training on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4th. Apologies for the timing so soon after the start of term but this is due to the availability of external training providers.

PTCA COFFEE MORNING

All parents are invited to attend a second PTCA organised free coffee morning on Monday September 7th . We are always on the look out for new members of our very active and fun-loving PTCA. Even if you are only able to attend the odd meeting here and there or just help out at events, any time you can give would be greatly appreciated and of enormous benefit to the children. Come along for a cuppa and a chat!

PTCA MEETING

The first PTCA meeting of the year is to be held after school on Monday September 7th. New members are warmly welcomed (see above).

SWIMMING FOR YEAR 6

The swimming block for Year 6 will run from November 2nd to November 20th. This is a three week intensive course involving daily swimming sessions. More details will follow in due course.

SCHOOL CHOIR

Auditions will be held for the school choir during the course of next week. Any children interested are invited to sing (or sing along to) a favourite song. If your child is interested then let them give you a practice performance or two!

FREE SCHOOL MEALS ELIGIBILITY

Are you eligible to claim free school meals but are not taking advantage of it? Please see the information that is displayed in school or have a chat to us if you think you might be eligible. There are many benefits of registering.
